While I mostly remember president Bush as a disappointment after the presidency of Ronald Reagan, today, five days after his death, the United States is observing a day of mourning for its 41st president.

Announced by President Donald Trump on Saturday, the day of mourning honors the 94-year-old former president who died Friday night. The federal government will be closed on Wednesday, as will the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. A state funeral will be held at the Washington National Cathedral today, beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern.

Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

May he rest in peace. Amen.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
